Chaque année, l'Illustre Théâtre, ancien chai viticole datant du 19ème siècle, accueille le festival du cinéma Australien : "Le Bout du Monde".
L'Illustre a deux scènes : la salle de Cabaret, et la Grande Salle avec 220 places. Pendant notre festival l'Illustre Théâtre se transforme de nouveau en cinéma. La Grande Salle est dotée d’un écran de 7 x 5 mètres et la Salle Cabaret devient salle d'exposition avec des œuvres d'art australien.
Le jardin fait le lien entre les deux salles et permet aux festivaliers de profiter de ce lieu bucolique et convivial autour d’une bière ou vin ou d’une assiette typique barbecue. La magie du lieu crée une ambiance propice pour se détendre et discuter sur les films et le cinéma.

Each year in May the Illustre Théâtre of Pézenas, in the Languedoc region of south France, generously hosts the Australian Film Festival : Le Bout du Monde.
The Illustre was transformed from a run down wine making domaine of the C19th into an impressive collection of theatre spaces 20 years ago, when it was lying idle as a parking lot. Thanks to the vision and tenacity of its founders, Flore Padiglione and Gérard Mascot, an extraordinary theatre was born.
The theatre has two main spaces ; the Cabaret space, and the main theatre which seats 220. Over the last fifteen years the Illustre has seen cabarets, musicals, stand-ups, pub quizzes, concerts as diverse as jazz to opera, dance and pantomime. It is also a venue for theatre courses for both adults and children, and in the Summer the garden becomes an added performing space with a Molière style tratteux and more than 300 people seated under the stars in balmy long dusks.
For the film festival, the Illustre transforms yet again, this time into a cinema, grace of the generous participation of CineLanguedoc, who erect a 7 x 5 metre screen in the Grande Salle. The cinema ambience is unique. The Cabaret Salle becomes the site of the Exhibition associated with the festival, with works from both Australian and French artists. The garden has an outdoor bar and barbeque, where the public can relax and enjoy the magic atmosphere created by Le Bout du Monde.
